I can't upload a file to D2L

D2L allows the upload of common file types such as PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, and PPTX.

When you upload a file to D2L, you are putting it on a windows server. There are reserved characters that can not be in the file name. Here are some examples: $&+,/:;=?@ and unsafe characters: space, quotation marks, <>#%{}|\^~[]`

Keep the file names simple to upload the file.

Also, D2L does not allow you to upload a file that is larger than 2 GB.
