Installing Printers on a Apple Computer

  1.  Click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and choose System Setting. 

  2. Scroll to the very bottom and choose Printers & Scanners.

  3. Click Add Printer, Scanner, Fax in the lower right hand corner.

  4. This box will appear:


   


Make sure to click on the globe in the middle,  

  • Address: is hcprint01.hartwick.edu.  

  • Protocol: is Line Printer Daemon - LPD

  • Queue: is the name of your printer on the network. Ex TechServ1  

  • Name: section is how you identify the printer. (Its a good idea to use the same name for both the "Queue" and "Name" section in case you need  future assistance with the printer.)

  • Use:  Generic PCL printer 

Once it is all filled in, Click Add.  Make sure to turn on duplex so your printer can print on both sides.
